Live CAD in Unreal Engine.

Stream CAD geometry live into your Unreal scene. No exports. No simplification. Your teams always see the latest engineering version.

Engineering Changes the CAD.  Your Unreal Team Starts Over.

Every engineering release means another round of export, conversion and cleanup.
Until it’s done, your Unreal scene shows a design that’s already out of date.
Today
A Pipeline You Rerun
Teams export, convert and clean up the data. Scripted or by hand, they run it again after every engineering change.
Reduced Detail
Teams simplify the models to fit into Unreal. Engineering detail is lost.
Large Data Is a Risk
Large assemblies are slow or do not load. Teams must cut the data down.
With instant3Dhub
No Pipeline
You connect Unreal directly to your CAD data. The data preparation pipeline is gone.
Full CAD Detail
Unreal developers get access to the full 3D CAD data, with structure and metadata.
Any Data Size, Full Performance
You do not reduce the data. Streaming loads only what is visible, so large assemblies run at full performance.

Live CAD From Design
Review to Sales Meeting

Teams use the plugin across the product process: from design to engineering to sales.
High-End Visualization
Design Prototyping
Design
Product Management
Designers evaluate the product early, in a virtual environment. They review the design on current CAD data before a physical prototype exists.
VR Workflow
Cable Harness Planning
Engineering
Harness Design
Engineers draw simple tubes into the existing vehicle in VR. They test where the cable harness can go, early in development. Teams also use VR for virtual product reviews.
High-End Visualization
Sales Visualization
Sales
Marketing
Product Management
Show the product to the customer in its real materials. Change paint and options live in the meeting. The customer sees the specification while it can still change.

CAD Parts as Native Unreal Objects

Place the Connector actor in your level. Its handler turns the streamed CAD data into regular Unreal Actors, so you select, move, script, and render parts like any other object in your scene.
Step 1
Enable the Plugin
Add the instant3Dhub plugin to your Unreal project.
Step 2
Place the Connector
Drag the Connector actor into your level and connect it to your CAD data.
Step 3
Use Parts as Actors
Each CAD part arrives as an Unreal object with its hierarchy and metadata. Use it in Blueprint or C++.
Blueprint and C++ API
Script selection, hover, transforms, and clip planes on CAD parts with Blueprint nodes or C++.
Large Assemblies, Full Frame Rate
The plugin streams only what the camera sees. You do not decimate or split the model to keep your level running.
Your Unreal Materials
Assign your own Unreal materials to CAD parts, the same way you do for any mesh. (Experimental)
COMPATIBLE WITH
Plugin 1.4
Unreal Engine 5.4–5.8
instant3Dhub 3.11–3.13
PIE, Standalone, packaged apps

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to export or convert my CAD data?
No. The plugin connects Unreal directly to your CAD data and streams the geometry live into your scene. You skip the export, conversion and preparation steps that teams rerun after every engineering change, scripted or by hand. The data preparation pipeline is gone, so your developers can focus on the Unreal project instead of the data.
Does the plugin simplify or reduce my models?
No. Unreal developers get access to the full 3D CAD data, with its hierarchy, structure, and metadata. Instead of reducing the model, the plugin streams only what the camera sees. Large assemblies run at full frame rate, so you do not need to decimate, split, or cut down the model to keep your level running.
What happens when engineering changes the CAD data?
Your Unreal scene stays connected to the CAD data, so your teams always see the latest engineering version. There is no new export or conversion round after each change. This matters most early in development, when designers, engineers, and sales teams review a product whose specification can still change.
Which versions are supported?
The current plugin version is 1.4. It supports Unreal Engine 5.4 to 5.8 and works with instant3Dhub 3.11 to 3.13. For the full list, see the compatibility details in the docs.
Can I control CAD parts with Blueprint or C++?
Yes. The Connector actor turns the streamed CAD data into regular Unreal Actors, and each part keeps its hierarchy and metadata. You select, move, script, and render parts like any other object in your scene. With Blueprint nodes or C++, you can script selection, hover, transforms, and clip planes.
Can I use my own Unreal materials?
Yes. You assign your own Unreal materials to CAD parts, the same way you do for any mesh. This lets you show the product in its real materials, for example to change paint and options live in a customer meeting. This feature is currently experimental.
Does it work in packaged applications and VR?
Yes. The plugin runs in PIE, Standalone, and packaged apps, so you can use it during development and in the applications you roll out to your teams. Teams use it for VR workflows: engineers draw simple tubes into the existing vehicle to plan cable harness routes, and teams run virtual product reviews on current CAD data.
